Nominated Again: Top Gluten-Free Blogs 2013

I am deeply honored to be named among the best gluten-free blogs of 2013 for the second time, especially in GFreek’s 4th Annual Gluten Free Awards. I moved around 80 recipes to this blog from my previous site in the summer of 2010. It’s been incredible to see how much the blog has grown and how much I’ve learned since then. Practice truly makes progress.

Whether you are new to a gluten-free diet or have been following it for years, remember: don’t give up. Some recipes take time to master, and some substitutions take trial and error. I’m here to help you along the way, sharing what I’ve learned and offering recipes and tips whenever you need them.

My progress rests on the shoulders of recipe developers who came before me. Much of what I know comes from experimenting in my kitchen. When I needed guidance, I turned to resources like Carol Fenster’s cookbook, 1000 Gluten Free Recipes, which influenced techniques I adapted for my own creations—never copied, but often inspirational. I also learned about superfine rice flour from Annalise Roberts and Claudia Pillow’s work, and later saw how bakers like Carol Kicinski used it to great effect. Those influences helped me develop my own gluten-free cake flour blend and my all-purpose gluten-free flour blend.
