Ingredients:
1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
Directions:
Combine the tomato paste, tomato sauce, oregano, and minced garlic in a small saucepan. Stir until smooth, then bring to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat. Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired. Serve warm over pasta, as a base for pizza, or alongside your favorite dishes.
Notes:
This simple tomato sauce is quick to prepare and works well as a starter recipe. For a richer flavor, simmer a few minutes longer or add a splash of olive oil, a pinch of sugar to balance acidity, or some freshly ground black pepper. Fresh herbs such as basil or parsley can be stirred in at the end for brightness.
