Ready to make some?
This dressing is easiest to blend in a food processor or blender. If you prefer, you can mash the avocado and finely chop the herbs and aromatics, then whisk everything together by hand.
Simple substitutions and customizations:
- No jalapeño? Add a pinch of cayenne or omit heat entirely.
- No fresh garlic? Use garlic powder to taste.
- Prefer a different flavor profile? Swap lemon juice and parsley for the lime and cilantro.
- Want it creamier? Stir in Greek yogurt or mayonnaise.
- Like a touch of sweetness? Add honey or maple syrup.
- Craving smokiness? A chipotle in adobo adds depth and heat.
Suggested uses:
- On Mexican-inspired green salads
- Drizzled over tacos, burritos, rice bowls, or enchiladas
- As a finishing sauce for roasted or grilled proteins and vegetables
- Stirred into rice or beans for extra flavor
Enjoy!
